Brief Description This dental key is a tooth extractor. A steel rod is inserted through an octagonal wooden handle; the handle is set at right angles to the rod; the rod has a dog-leg-shaped bend midway down the length and ends in an oval shaped head; the head has a curved arm hinged to one side with a toothed claw.

The claw would be tightened over a tooth and the instrument rotated to loosen the tooth before extraction.
