Brief Description This Egyptian necklace, also known as mummy beads, is made up of different coloured faience beads. Faience is a type of ceramic with a tin-based glaze, giving a characteristic blue or green or turquoise end product.

The mummified bodies of the Egyptian dead were adorned with jewellry and furnished with other belongings and food. The Egyptians believed that a person's spirit would need food and possessions in the afterlife.
