Brief Description |
This Hooded Crow has been mounted and installed onto a wooden stand. It has black feathers on its head, throat, wings and tail and grey feathers on its back, chest and stomach.
Sometimes called the Hoodiecrow, this bird is found all over Europe. Other names for it are the Scotch Crow, Danish Crow and Corbie, according to where you live. Like all crow species, it is an omnivorous and opportunistic forager and feeder.
The Hooded Crow is associated with fairies in the Scottish Highlands. In the 18th century Scottish shepherds would make offerings to them to keep them from attacking sheep.
