One of a collection of black and white photographs of buildings and streets in Whanganui, this print is a view of Victoria Avenue from the corner of Ridgway Street.
Few cars and no trees in Victoria Avenue give an uninterrupted view of the public and business buildings in the main street. The DIC department store is visible in the distance. Tram tracks are also apparent. The Post and Telegraph building in the foreground will shortly be superseded by a new Post Office, under construction in Ridgway Street.
