One of a collection of black and white photographs of buildings and streets in Whanganui. This print is of Drews Avenue, formerly Wicksteed Place, taken from Ridgway Street.
H R Beauchamp & Co Agents, Kempthorne Prosser, a large house and business premises and the glorious Cosmopolitan Club proceed down the hill in a prosperous line. This site was known as Stevenson’s block after the former owner and a one-time mayor of Whanganui, James Lockhart Stevenson.
