One of a collection of black and white photographs of buildings and streets in Whanganui, Campbell Place, now Rutland Street, is seen from Market Square.
The Māori Land Court, on the corner, was built in 1922 to investigate and judge Māori land and property issues. The County Council building beyond it was built in 1914. Just one parked car indicates how quiet this part of town normally was.
