Small sepia toned carte de visite photograph of Thomas Adamson, mounted on light card. Studio portrait of a man wearing a dark suit with white handkerchief in his breast pocket and white flower at his collar, seated on a chair with his legs crossed and one arm resting next to a hat on a table next to him. Same man as 1802.3608.
Thomas Adamson was born in Whanganui in 1847. He was a member of the Wanganui Fire Brigade in 1866, and was engaged in the Maori Wars where he earned the New Zealand Cross. Adamson married Nika Waiata in 1910, although they are reported as being married in the Wanganui Herald on 1884. Although they had no natural children they did adopt. He passed away on 29th December 1913.
