Photograph mounted on card with "Bunting/Palmerston" in silver lettering below, of Mrs J F Kells (nee Miss Rose Hannah Tonks). She wears a black lace shawl over her shoulders and a bonnet adorned with flowers. A pot plant can be seen on a small table to her right, on which her arm is resting.
Mrs Kells lived at Parakino and later shifted to Whanganui during the New Zealand Land Wars.
