Brief Description This badger, a fully mounted specimen, is from Britain. It was donated to the museum in 1896 by Thomas Thatcher after a visit to the UK. (Thomas Thatcher was the grandfather of Margaret Thatcher's husband Denis.) Badgers are short-legged omnivores in the weasel family, Mustelidae. There are 11 species of badger; the European badger is one of the largest, while the American badger and the honey badger are usually smaller and lighter.
