This portrait-format postcard is printed on card with a semi-gloss finish and features a hand coloured image of a military regiment marching across a field with officers standing or on horseback, looking on from one side and a crowd of civillians on the other. Soldiers march towards the hills in the background, with a superimposed image of Jesus with his arms wide open in the clouds above.
The postcard has the first verse of the song "Onward Christian Soldiers" printed on the bottom: "ONWARD, CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS (1) / ONWARD, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, / With the Cross of Jesus going on before. / Christ the Royal Master leads against the foe, / Forward into battle, see, His banners go ! / Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, / With the Cross of Jesus going on before."
The postcard has been filled out on the reverse with a message from Dulcie to Miss Prideaux, but does not appear to have been posted.
