Name/Title PHOTOGRAPH; Biplane at Whanganui Airport
Brief Description Black and white photograph of a biplane flying over a car with six people, taken at the opening of Wanganui Airport on 18 April 1931. One of the events of the opening was the bombing of the Bucking Lizzie, where the biplane flew overhead and 'bombed' the car with bags of flour.

The biplane is slightly out of focus. Bucking Lizzie has its front two wheels (painted with two white circles) off the ground. A man is driving four women and one boy in the car. In the background to the left is another grounded biplane.
