Brief Description Black and white photograph of a procession of Wanganui Greyhound Buses upon the occasion of the launch of the company in Whanganui in September 1950. The image shows nine buses lined bumper-to-bumper in the middle of Victoria Avenue with crowds of people gathered on both sides.

The Greyhound Buses serviced the Whanganui, Ohakune and Raetihi areas. They offered transport for local commuting, travel to race meets, charter trips, and a 2½ hour observational tour on Sunday afternoons taking passengers on a commentated visit to the historic and beautiful places of the town.
