Studio portrait of a man standing in front of a wooden pallisade, wearing a suis with one hand in his pocket and the othr holding a black hat at his side, painted view into another room on te right side of the image. This is a copy of another image held at the Alexander Turnbull Library taken by the Whangnaui photographer WJ Harding. An inscription on the original negative reads "R Bowhey Hobart Tour".
