Brief Description Small carte de visite photograph of David Blyth, mounted on card. Head and shoulders studio portrait of a man wearing a dark suit over a white shirt and this bow tie, with swept up hair and a full beard.
David Blyth was born in Scotland in 1841, a son to James, and the family immigrated to New Zealand in 1842. David worked as a farmer at Marybank in Whanganui, and at Warrengate in Taylorville. He married Rachel Harrison in 1866 in Wellington and they had the following children:

Elizabeth born 1876
Thomas Arthur born 1880
They are also reputed to have had two other sons who are not registered in New Zealand; James and David Laing.
David passed away in 1899 in Wellington, aged 58 years.
