Brief Description Small sepia toned carte de visite photograph of Mr Frederic Blaydes, mounted on light card. Head and shoulders portrait fo a man wearing a suit and tie, tidy hair and a moustche and goatee. Image has been faded around edges.
Frederick Augustus Blaydes was born in England and emigrated to New Zealand and settled in Whangnaui, where he was for some time he was the organist of Christ Church. He married Alice Caroline Dyer in 1874 but they ha dno registered children in New Zealand. He later returned to England and became Mayor of Ipswich.
