One of a collection of postcards, mainly from the World War I period that belonged to Major Cecil L Lovegrove. Black and white postcard featuring an illustration from the book "Fragments of France". Illustration is captioned "The Fatalist" and cut at the bottom would have said "I'm sure they'll hear this damn thing squeakin'."
Illustration depicts a lone soldier at night getting water from a hand-pumped water well.
