Barkcloth (tapa) made from inner bark paper mulberry tree (Broussonetia papyrifera). Siapo mamanu, Samoan barkcloth with freehand painted patterns. Large rectantgular shape decorated with with freehand painted patterns in brown and black dyes, divided into 42 squares alternate between a tusilií pattern (zig-zags) and a star pattern. They alternate to form 6 diagonal lines. fa'aaveau = starfish pattern tusili'i = line pattern
