Brief Description Small paperback book with the title "Featherston Military Training Camp" and sub heading "The Record of a Remarkable Achievement". Contributed writing by Mr Will Lawson, photographs by L. Mence & Co. and edited by Sergeant G. L. Stanbrook. 112 page book with two fold out panoramic photographs in the back of the book.

The front and back covers are printed in colour on slightly thicker paper to rest of document. Front Cover features an illustration in an art deco style of a New Zealand Soldier in uniform holding a rifle in front of a New Zealand Flag. On the left side of this illustration are the initials "N.Z." and a medal below, on the right side are the initials "E. F." with a different medal below. The back cover page features a symbolic emblem of a shield with the "NZ" initials and a long sword in front.

The third page in reads "Being a record of its wonderful growth and daily operation", "Soldiers in the making" and "The work of the camp described and illustrated", near the lower edge of the page "Third edition, completing 20,000." is written. A majority of the book is text and images printed in black and white, pages 17, 33, 48, and 81 feature colour images. The last two pages of the book are panoramic photographs of "Featherston Canvas Camp" and "Featherston Military Training Camp" printed in sepia tone.
