Brief Description	This is the skeleton of a Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) mounted on a black-painted wooden perch and base. This carnivorous bird is one of the kingfisher family Halcyonidae. It is native to eastern Australia, but now common in Tasmania and Western Australia. These kookaburras are well known for their laughing call.
