Name/Title SKULL; DUGONG
Brief Description This Dugong (Dugong dugong) skull has its left tusk intact but its right tusk is missing. This is an immature specimen; we can tell this because the sutures on the skull have not fully fused.

This large marine mammal, together with the Manatees, is one of four living species of the order Sirenia. The Dugong is the only strictly marine herbivorous mammal, as all species of manatee use fresh water to some degree.
