Brief Description Sand dollars are a member of the class Echinoidea or sea urchins, with the same five-part symmetry, but unlike kina, they have a flattened body for burrowing into the sand. Their hard skeletons, sometimes called "snapper biscuits", are commonly found washed up on beaches or fossilised in marine deposits.
