Brief Description A mounted chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) from Switzerland, acquired by the Museum from Mr Nicolas Meuli of Wanganui in 1901. Chamois were not introduced to New Zealand until 1907, when eight, a gift from Emperor Franz Joseph, were liberated in the Southern Alps.
