This brass badge comes from Queen Alexandra's 2nd (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles. A New Zealand punga tree is encircled by a baggage strap with "QUEEN ALEXANDRA'S 2nd WWC Mtd RIFLES'' in relief. The number 2 is on the left and right sides and a scroll below the tree reads ''AKE AKE KIA KAHA'' (for ever and ever be strong). Two loops and a threaded pin on the back provide attachment.
