This is a ticket for a New Zealand War Loan Lottery. It is a small ticket of pale green paper with black printed text outlinig the details of the lottery. This was ticket number 2,462 of 5,000 tickets to be sold at 5 Fr (francs). each. The prizes consisted of specified amounts to be invested on behalf of the winners, and the draw was to have taken placed on or about 1st March 1918.
This lottery scheme was designed to generate finances for the war effort by selling lottery tickets for the a war bond which could be redeemed at a later date.
