Brief Description |
The shingleback skink (Tiliqua rugosa) is found in semi-arid regions of western and southern Australia, reaching parts of Queensland and New South Wales. It is armoured with heavy scales. This specimen was probably acquired as a collection of Australian reptiles in the 1890s, and at some point was inaccurately repainted in vivid colours. Specimens in life are either rusty brown or striped in cream and dark grey.
