A black and white photograph showing two men and two women looking into a large cave along the Whanganui River, the entrance partially obscured by foliage.
One of 38 black and white photographs of Whanganui River scenes taken during the river trip of William Salt (brother) and Mary Salt (sister) and party, who rowed down down the Whanganui River from Taumarunui in about 1910.
Wairoa in Te Puha (Marshalls grave is on top of cliff). Information on back of photograph comes from G J Wilks, brother of the donor who made the voyage, or part of it.
