Brief Description Black and white photograph of a group of people in three rowboats floating in the middle of the Whanganui River below Opopo. The two rowboats at the front are the "Ngauruhoe" and the "Ruapehu". Mary Salt is identified in the front boat. Dense bush covers all banks of the river.

One of 38 black and white photographs of Whanganui River scenes taken during the river trip of William Salt (brother) and Mary Salt (sister) and party, who rowed down down the Whanganui River from Taumarunui in about 1910. Information on back of photograph comes from G J Wilks, brother of the donor who made the voyage, or part of it.
