A black and white photograph of a group of people with two rowboats pulled up onto a sandy bank of the Whanganui River. Dense bush covers the banks of the river with much driftwood visible in the background. Written on the back is, "Looking down to Otaipohata".
One of 38 black and white photographs of Whanganui River scenes taken during the river trip of William Salt (brother) and Mary Salt (sister) and party, who rowed down down the Whanganui River from Taumarunui in about 1910. Information on back of photograph comes from G J Wilks, brother of the donor who made the voyage, or part of it.
