A black and white photograph taken from above Churton's Creek, looking out over Taupo Quay and the Whanganui River towards Shakespeare Cliff. The view overlooks some rough grassy land with sparse houses, and a ship docked at a small jetty.
A series of numbers have been written on the front to identify a number of buildings:
