A black and white photograph taken from Campbelltown on the east bank of the Whanganui River, looking over the water towards the town wharf and Taupo Quay and a boat docked at the wharf.
The old ferry boat hut stands to the left, and another hut on the right has an advertisement for the Nathan Juvenile Troupe adhered to the wall. The Nathan Juvenile Troupe performed in Whanganui in 1867.
