Name/Title MUSIC, SHEET; Anzac Memories, Poppies of Flanders
Brief Description Sheet music printed with "Anzac Memories, Poppies of Flanders" for piano and cornet composed by Godfrey Copley. Four pages of piano and voice music with front and back cover plus one page of cornet music.

The cover illustration has a central panel in green ink of a long field of white crosses, a border of red poppies with green foliage and a "Digger" with a lemon squeezer hat and rifle at upper right of panel.

This sheet music was owned by Godfrey Copley, a pianist, composer and music teacher of Whanganui. He became famous locally for playing the piano non-stop at the Wanganui Opera House on 1 - 3 September 1910, creating a new world record for endurance piano playing of 68 hours and thirty minutes, breaking the old record by four hours. He had made a previous attempt on 11 - 13 August the same year, but had to stop at 59 hours and 25 minutes, two hours under the world record.

Later in 1910, from 12 - 15 October, he had yet another go, breaking his own record by one hour and thirty-five minutes.
