This postcard titled "SUEZ - The docks was printed on card and has a photograph of the docks of the Suez Canal with several buildings on the banks reflected in the water below, three ships docked behind the buildings and hills in the background.
The Postcard was filled out and posted by Henry Eliot (Boy) Blennerhassett who survived his service in World War I and died in Whanganui on 27 Oct 1975. His brother Arthur Reginald (Reg) Blennerhassett was one of the younger children in the Blennerhassett family and died in France towards the end of the war.
The text in black ink on the back of the postcard reads: "Cairo 19-2-16 / This is about the only / PC of Suez I could get. / It is not bad but it does / not give you much of an / idea because you have / not got the colors. - This / is a great show and I / would like to be staying / longer but you have to be / ready for anything at this / game. Thank you for the / letter. Love from Boy. / On Active Service. The postcard was addressed to his younger sister, Ada Blennerhassett.
