|
Brief Description |
This postcard is a sepia-toned photograph of the interior of a hospital ward during World War I. Wounded New Zealand soldiers and nursing staff are gathered against one wall of the room, with beds against the side walls and tables in the centre. A reflection in a mirror in the centre of the ward shows the inscription "KIA ORA" above the door behind the photographer. A New Zealand Cabbage Tree (Cordyline) in a pot on the table in the centre front of the room is also visible, along with other pot plants and vines hung from the ceiling.
The postcard was never written on or mailed.
