This portrait-format postcard is printed on card with a glossy finish and features a hand-coloured photograph of a military regiment marching down a London road with a civilian standing by saluting them and other pedestrians in the background. Piccadilly Tube station and other tall buildings can be seen in the background, along with a lamp post and two tall trees.
The first verse of the song "It's a Long, Long Way to Tipperary" is printed on the bottom: "IT'S A LONG, LONG WAY TO TIPPERARY (1). / Up to mighty London came an Irishman one day, / As the streets were paved with gold, sure ev'ry / one was gay; / Singing songs of Piccadilly, Strand and Leicester / Square, / Till Paddy got excited, then he shouted to them / there".
The postcard has not been filled out or posted and is one of a set of four.
