Brief Description Black and white portrait photograph of Mrs Hughie Muldrock (nee Sarah Peters) and wee Hugh.The image shows a seated woman with dark hair, wearing a dark-coloured long dress, holding a baby in a white gown on her lap. The woman has a heart-shaped locket around her neck.

Sarah's husband, Hugh Muldrock, was born in 1852 in Burnbrae in County Down, Ireland and came to New Zealand in around 1867-8. He married Sarah Peters of Carterton in 1879. Hugh was a farmer at Ngutuwera, near Waverley. As a veteran of the New Zealand Land Wars, he was granted this land.

The child in this image, Hugh James Muldrock, also became a farmer, marrying Clarice Ethel [Ethelyn] Baggarley in 1907. He died young. His siblings were:
