A black and white photograph taken from behind Pakaitore/Moutoa Gardens, looking over the Whanganui River to Shakespeare Cliff. The statue in the centre of the gardens is the Moutoa Monument, with piles of timber stacked around it. The Albian Hotel is visible in the foreground to the left, with several houses beside it. A ship is berthed at Moutoa Wharf, and a ferry is visible across the river.
