Brief Description |
This water colour painting by itinerant painter Christopher Aubrey is a view of Cherry Bank, near Whanganui, in 1895. The landscape shows a ridge line above the Cherry Bank homestead with a small lake at the base of the ridge and the homestead in the centre distance with cream walls and grey rooftops. Cows are depicted grazing in the foreground, several horses are grazing near the lake, and gentle rolling hills are visible in the distance. The painting is glued to a layer of thick paper, which is in turn secured with animal glue to cream card.
