Brief Description This maniple comes from St Marys Catholic Church in Whanganui. It is made of soft yellow silk and embroidered with ears of wheat set in the form of a cross and trimmed with gold braid and a gold fringe.

A maniple is a strip of cloth formerly worn at the Catholic Mass over the left arm by the priest. It is an emblem of the burden of sin and the duties of the priestly. The maniple is in the same liturgical colour as the other vestments for any given Mass.
