This sepia-toned photograph is of two steam engines, "Wab" 800 and "Ab" 700, outside railway sheds at Frankton Junction in Hamilton. Black smoke is coming out of the Wab 800 engine. There is a puddle of water lying between the tracks.
Frankton is a suburb of Hamilton. It is the site of Hamilton's passenger railway station, an industrial-commercial sector and a shopping area. Frankton Borough Council was formed in 1913 and then merged with Hamilton in 1917.
