This black and white photograph of the steam locomotive no 687 was taken at Oio, in the Ruapehu district, in 1964. The engine has a plume of black smoke coming from its funnel and there are three men standing next to the engine. A carriage is linked to the engine and you can see two people looking out the carriage window. The carriage has the number 2 on its side.
