Name/Title TABUA, WHALE TOOTH NECKLACE
Brief Description This Fijian ceremonial whale tooth necklace, or tabua, is made of a Sperm Whale tooth with a pointed tip, perforated at the tip and at both sides of the hollow base for a suspension cord. The tooth is polished.

Although the form is largely natural, there is slight evidence of shaping around the base cavity to flatten the end of the tooth.
