Name/Title |
Replica plaster moa bones
|
Brief Description |
Because of the way moa remains were recovered from the Makirikiri Swamp in 1936-37, many of the smaller bones were left behind. When assembling skeletons for display, the museum's Curator George Shepherd needed to manufacture replicas of missing vertebrae or toe bones. These ones were made of moulded plaster.
