Brief Description This large framed sepia-washed photograph shows local farmer and politician David Peat, Esquire, handing over the deeds of the David Peat Park to the Wanganui Borough Council on 22 February, 1911. The caption reads, "Presented to David Peat, Esquire, by the Borough of Wanganui on the occasion of his handing over the Deeds of the David Peat Park to the Wanganui Borough Council, February 22, 1911".

Nine men are sitting or standing to the left of David Peat, there is a man between Peat and the recipient of the deed, and five men and one woman are sitting or standing to the right of the recipient of the deed. The man sitting to the immediate right of the recipient is F Spurdle. The image is matted in dark brown heavy card.
