This Chinese Backgammon set has counters made from mother of pearl. It comprises nine rectangular counters (one broken) with the Poyle family crest on one side and a coastal village scene on the other; 51 fish-shaped counters (three with broken tails) with scales on one side, and on the other a Chimera with a lion's head and serpent tail; one eye-shaped counter with a cross-hatch pattern on one side and flower designs on the other. The counters are stored in a tin container with enamel panels featuring floral borders and central floral designs.
