Brief Description Photographic copy of a hand-tinted photograph of Sarah Spurdle, wife of William Spurdle, of Whanganui. She arrived in New Zealand in 1842, and lived first in New Plymouth and then in Whanganui. Her son Frederick (born 1852) became a Mayor of Whanganui.
