Name/Title PHOTOGRAPH; View from the Wanganui River
Brief Description Sepia-washed photograph mounted on card with red border, of an original sketch of the town of Wanganui from the southeast bank of the Whanganui River. Labelled below the sketch.

The town has the York Stockade to the left (now Cooks Gardens) and Rutland Stockade to the right (now Pukenamu-Queen's Gardens), houses at the foot of the Rutland Stockade and ships moored at the Wanganui Town Port and mid-river.

The card is stamped on the bottom right hand corner with the words "W J Harding" who is the photographer of the original work.
