Brief Description |
A black and white photograph of R T Batley's wool, baled and loaded onto four large carts, crossing the Wanganui Town Bridge for shipment to London.
Robert Thompson Batley was a sheep farmer and storefront owner from Moawhango. The wool was carted by Batley's own men during a strike. The carts can be seen lining up along Taupo Quay. Shipping masts are visible at the wharf in the background. The Loan and Mercantile building in the background was partly destroyed by fire on 10 August 1902. People can be seen gathering in the lower right corner.
