A black and white photo of the M.V. "River City" arriving at the Town Wharf in Whanganui. A large crowd of people have gathered on the wharf and bunting is flying both on the wharf and on the vessel. A smaller vessel has been board tied up on the left hand side of the "River City." Six men can be seen standing above the bridge on the River City and three more people can be seen in the front.
