A black and white photograph of the Wanganui Boys' High School, mounted on green card. The studio portrait shows four rows of boys with a male teacher seated in the centre. The boy in the centre of the front row holds a slate which reads "1898". Pot plants decorate the foreground. This photograph was presented to Victor Carrell as a first prize for attendance suring 1898.
