Name/Title PHOTOGRAPH; Whanganui Railway Station
Brief Description A black and white photograph of the Whanganui Railway Station as it appeared when new in 1901. The station was located on Heads Road near the Town Wharf. The photograph looks over the dirt road towards the long, two-storeyed wooden building. A large verandah protrudes from the front, and a small awning is located towards the right of the building. One tree stands on the far right.
When completed, this station measured 188ft in length and cost £2,600 to make. It also housed the District Railway offices.
